THE CHALLENGE
CAPTURING THE ESSENCE OF WHAT IT MEANS TO BUILD ONE OF THESE INCREDIBLE MACHINES. THE WORK IS HARD YET REWARDING AND FULL OF PURPOSE. SEEING WHAT THEY BUILT TO SERVE THE FABRIC OF THIS COUNTRY IS WHAT DRIVES MASTER BOAT BUILDERS. OUR GOAL WAS TO CAPTURE THAT MEANING VISUALLY AND AUTHENTICALLY.

THE APPROACH
WE WANTED THIS PIECE TO FEEL LIKE YOU WERE IN THE SHIPYARD WITH MASTER BOAT BUILDERS. WE CHOSE TO SHOOT HANDHELD AND ANAMORPHIC TO ACHIEVE THAT IMMERSIVE FEELING.
CREATE
THE EXECUTION
THE FINAL PRODUCT NEEDED TO BE IMMERSIVE. WE WANTED THE VIEWER TO FEEL AS IF THEY COULD REACH OUT AND TOUCH THE BOATS IN THE SHIPYARD. THE EFFECTIVE USE OF SOUND DESIGN, MUSIC SELECTION, AND CONTRAST IN PACING HELPED US ACHIEVE THAT GOAL.
